Our Scotiabank Student GIC Program helps students meet the requirements for a Student Direct Stream (SDS) study permit. A GIC is an investment that offers a guaranteed interest rate over a fixed period of time. With the Scotiabank Student GIC Program students can invest between $20,635 CAD - $50,000 CAD.

To earn a $150 referral bonus (up to a maximum of $450) for each friend who opens and funds a Scotiabank Student GIC between April 1, 2024 – October 31, 2024, please begin by registering to start referring others below. Note: Your friend or family member will also earn a $50 bonus when they open and fund the account.
